Never Too Late: Ebenezer Rose, 93, kisses his bride, Monica Hayden, 89, after their June 7 wedding in West Palm Beach, Fla. Rose said he told Hayden that "each of us is living a lonely life. Why not get married?"
The couple first met in church about 20 years ago.
"She had eyes on me all these years," Rose, who years ago served as a missionary for the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, told the The Palm Beach Post. "By God's grace, we're here."
Rose's first wife, Bernice died about four years ago after 58 years of marriage. Hayden is twice-widowed.
On the day of their wedding, Rose wore a handsome suit and a smiled from ear to ear when his bride appeared to a swell of music.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds paused to think of their new life together going forward.
"It was more than I expected," the new Mrs. Rose told the The Palm Beach Post, with her tiara flashing in the light. "Beautiful."
